Product Reviews
While I historically am not very kitchen-gadget happy, from time to time, we do try out something new that is worth mentioning, either for good or bad reasons. Items reviewed on this site will always be items that we have purchased, unless otherwise disclosed, and will always include my (or our) honest opinion about the item. Hi, Angela.
thank you for mentioning Nordic Naturals in your blog post. I do their PR and I would love to send you a press kit and some goodies. I represent natural product companies and only the best at that!

Hi,
I am REALLY looking forward to your review of the new Ninja MEGA kitchen system with the greater horsepower and watts.
Specifically – could you please try making whole vegetable juice and see if it turns out different than the previous models (1100 and 1200 and pulse) because the inability to make a smooth whole vegetable juice seems to be the biggest complaint about the Ninja (mainly in response to the fact that the infomercial seems to suggest that the previous models make a pretty smooth whole vegetable juice). This seems to be the biggest difference between the Vitamix and the Ninja. I’m still undecided about which to buy for Christmas.
Thank You!!!
Jill
Hi Jill,
My new MEGA came yesterday! I am planning to give it the full rundown over the next week. I’ll tell you that my hunch is the veggie juice will not turn out much differently because the blade design is the same (blades up the center of the jar instead of at the bottom), it just has more power. I do think that the single serve cups may be able to make a smooth juice (again, just a hunch at this point). However, you never know till you try!
My hope is to give it the shakedown and publish the review towards the end of the week.
Angela
Any plans to review the Ninja cooking system?
Hi Lyn,
You know, I hadn’t thought of it, but you are the second person to ask in the last week! I’ll look into it and see what I can do, though it may be a while…I’ll keep you posted.
I am purchasing from BBB the Ninja Mega Kitchen based on your review and am excited!!
I wanted to purchase your Ninja Blender Handbook on Amazon and was surprized to see it’s only available on Kindle. Why not also in paperback? I don’t use reader/pads. Why not sell it in copy too? awww, too bad.
What do you think of the Ninja Master Prep Professional that Consumer Reports gave such a good review?
Hi Kerry,
You know, I have never used the Ninja Master Prep Pro, but my brother had one years ago and loved it. The blade design is very similar to the Ninja Professional Blender or Ninja Mega, just in a slightly different design, with the blade assembly being on the top. If you’re budget oriented, I would expect similar results to the Ninja Professional, but maybe slightly clunkier to use…
