A Quick Race Recap and Other Tidbits
Hi everyone!
I hope you had a good last weekend in April. I just have a few updates for you today.
First, if you are interested in running, I wrote my Eugene Half Marathon race report over here. I had zero expectations going into this race as I barely (and I mean barely) trained for it, but it ended up being a fairly good day after all. For a while there, I even thought I was going to get a personal record, but ended up losing a little steam at the end. I managed to finish almost smack-dab in the middle of all the female finishers. As a mediocre runner, I was happy with that!
Eugene is definitely a running town, and it was pretty cool to participate in such a big event which had 8,000 runners in total between the marathon and half marathon. That is a lot of people, and it is encouraging to see in this world where all we hear about are more negative health statistics. There are people on all ends of the health and fitness spectrum!
To celebrate and recover, I am starting off this week doing Jay Robb’s fruit flush. It’s a three-day detox, and after a few weeks of not the best (ad perhaps excessive) eating, it is just what the doctor ordered to get back on track and do a little internal housekeeping.
2Chili is off in Seattle for a few days, so it is the perfect time for me to tackle this “project!” I’ll keep you guys posted on how this goes, as I know many people are interested in cleansing and resetting the body from time to time.
Have a great week, and I’ll be back on Thursday with this week’s food budget.
