Project: Food Budget–Week 36

A new month is here!

Happy June! For those of us in the Northwest, June is the gateway to summer, and we couldn’t be happier about that fact. Last weekend, 2Chili and I did a run-bike-run duathlon, and the road that bike ride is on was free of snow (it is usually covered with snow in the winter) – this was a huge milestone!

For this first week of June, I mostly bought ingredients to do the Dr. Oz 48-hour cleanse (review coming next week), and a few other little supplemental items.

Total for the week: $77.36

Goal for the Month: $350

Menu for the Week:

  • Dr. Oz’s Cabbage Soup
  • Vegetarian Sloppy Joe leftovers
  • Pasta with red sauce and steamed veggies
  • Dinner at the neighbor’s – Copper River salmon with steamed veggies and sweet potatoes
  • Freezer leftovers

  • You did much better than I did this first week of June. I’m hoping I’ll make up for it later and still stay under my budget.

Good luck with your cleanse!!!! Enjoy the weather. I’m hoping for a bit of sun today, it’s been dreary and COLD for us in the northeast. We actually started the wood stove last night! brrrrr

  • Hey wait a minute, you are early this week. LOL> I didn’t even realize it until I checked the date, and it’s only Wednesday! haha. You are just too good!

  • haha, yeah, now don’t rush away the summer! I know it doesn’t last long, but I need to keep all my weekdays! LOL

  • Way to go on the budgeting. I’m interested to hear what you thought of the cleanse. And whether you felt any better/differently/worse on it…

    And YAY for no snow!!
