Cool Treat to Beat Summer Heat

Happy Friday Folks!

While Seattle is the only place in the lower 48 that is not currently in a heat wave (or so it seems), I feel for everyone going through the summer heat!

I have a quick and easy treat to suggest to you today. I don’t remember where I first read this idea – I think it was Runner’s World magazine – but it certainly is not new or even a recipe.

Regardless of where the idea came from, it is impossible to eat just a handful of these. In fact, it’s so impossible I couldn’t even take my own picture before I polished off a batch last night.

For a quick and easy cool treat, take some grapes, wash them and separate them from the stems. Then freeze them laying flat (not stacked on top of one another). A cookie sheet or a plate makes a good surface for doing this.

After about four hours, you can put them in a Ziplock baggie or other container for more permanent storage, though they won’t last long!

Note: If your grapes have seeds, cut them in half and remove the seeds before you freeze them. That would be an undesirable prize inside!

Happy Weekend!
