“Que sera, sera. Whatever will be, will be.”
That is my motto this week, and it’s a good thing, because it has been a rollercoaster ride from the get-go!
When I went shopping for the week, I had no idea we would be travelling from Bend to Seattle almost a full week earlier than expected. We had planned to make the trip this coming weekend. Alas, 2Chili had a last minute meeting pop up on Wednesday, and needed to be in town next week as well. Since I have a half marathon scheduled for March 10 in Seattle, it made the most sense to pack up the gang and all drive up together on Tuesday. Luckily I was able to bring most of the groceries and freeze whatever wouldn’t travel well.
Some additional unexpected news on Monday sent us into a severe tailspin, and my meal planning and preparations pretty much went out the window. Everyone and everything is okay, but sometimes life gets in the way, and that is okay. The important thing is to do the best you can with the situation you have, and know that, as my mother is – and mothers everywhere are – known for saying, ‘it will all work out in the end.” Don’tcha just sometimes you could speed up the getting to the end part?!
Total for the week: $54.13
Total for the month: $277.88
Budget for the month: $325
Under budget! But, I’m not shooting off fireworks on this one. We have eaten out way too much in the past week or so, so our “entertainment” budget is really taking the hit for the food budget being under!

Hey Angela, Just catching up on some old posts, I will come back to check for your current budget week.
So, hurray that you were under budget, even though your diningout/entertaining was a bit over. Like you said, it all works out.
Anyway, I wish you luck on your race. It’s this weekend!! whoo hoo!
hope everything is alright. and that things will calm down for you BOTH soon. those road trips must be getting old right about now…
Thank you! Road trips are almost over! We had taken the house off the market fairly soon after we listed it back in Sept with second thoughts, but put it back on in February and it is sold. We’re moving out in a week-and-a-half. We have mixed feelings, but mostly happy!
Hey i love your website, but i was also wondering where you found the nutrition bar thing. I would like to add a recipe i created to it and see how i am doing calorie wise. Thanks for any help you can give, and keep the recipes and tips coming they inspire me to try new things. Take care.
HI Heather,
I use a few tools for that nutrition label when I write new recipes – one is the Spark People Recipe Calculator, the other is the CalorieCount.com recipe calculator.
However, what may be best for you is an app called Lose It (loseit.com). I use that to track my daily calories, and, you can put in recipes as well.
Good luck, and thanks for your note!
Angela
