Project: Food Budget–Week 13

We had a boring food budget week around these parts! To be honest, I have been kind of lazy and uninspired, and it shows.

I had a 10K running race on Sunday, and, I followed my coach 2Chili’s  orders to run as hard as possible over a pretty hilly course. I have never been so completely spent after running 6 miles and am still paying the price for that effort, so the eating has been admittedly kind of boring. This is all I have wanted to do all week:

Yes, our kitty is a little on the large size, but we like to think of her as fat and happy. (Truthfully, she’s  not really that happy – she is kind of cranky, but in a loveable way.)

In other news, for last night’s leftover dinner, I used some cashew cheese in the Teriyaki Tofu Wraps instead of the garlic macadamia spread, and it was so amazingly good! I thought they were good the first time, but they are way better without the garlic-y spread.

Budget Breakdown:

Goal: $75

Menu for the Week:

We have been winging it! It’s liberating, but, not very effective, so we’ll be going back to a more planned out menu next week.

  • we all have those weeks. though, admittedly, when i have those weeks, i totally blow my budget. but like $100. ah well!

  • I love the way cats just really know how to hang out – must be exhausting for him/her to see you coming in after a run…mmm, bean sprouts…reminds me to go water my sprouting bags…

  • Thanks for the thoughts everyone! The kitty is pretty much spoiled to the hilt — we call her Miss Priss . ?

Jennifer, yes, the wraps were pretty great – the cashew cheese made all the difference. YUM! I hope you’ll try them out!

  • 1.) LOVE the kitty picture! And your description ?
2.) Also LOVE the teriyaki tofu wraps recipe. Just had to buy teriyaki for some other recipes, so I have everything on hand to make this and want to try it. It’s been too long since I made cashew cheese though I’ve wanted to because I love it so much. This inspires me to make a batch soon.
