If they just have the green superfood,, I just mix that in water. It is a little gritty, so prepare yourself that you won’t have a smoothie masking it. (Drinkable, just gritty). If you’re really coordinated (or can get the single serve packets), you can just pour it into a bottle of water, which would save you the space of the Blender Bottle!

I called around to see what our local stores have in stock and they have the Green Superfood, not the Vanilla Chai. Do you mix the Green Superfood flavor with milk as well? Sounds like you just throw the powder into the cup of milk, so no need to pack a blender bottle, correct? (I always try to pack light!)

Thanks again!

Thanks for your note. This is a topic near and dear to my heart! I have tried a lot of greens powders. Above all, I like the Amazing Grass products the most, and they’re readily available. Depending on your objective, you could either go with straight greens like the Green Superfood (30 calories), or, if you want a meal replacement, I like the Vanilla Chai Amazing Meal. It only has 90 calories though. So if you pair it with a banana and some nut butter (not mixed in, separate) and you are off to a nice start. You didn’t ask this part, but I over share, so I’ll tell you my routine. 😉

I usually go to a coffee shop and buy a tall milk to mix with the Amazing meal, and they usually have bananas too. I pack some Justin’s almond butter, and I’m good to go.

Have a great trip! Let me know how it works out for you!
Angela

First, I appreciate your blog and the various topics you write about–thank you for sharing! Second, as someone who has 3-4 green smoothies a week, I will be traveling several days and recall you recommending a specific brand of “green” powder/drink…one that you found pretty good. Was it Amazing Grass? I will be staying in a hotel, so was thinking about packing some powder and a shaker to make up for the lost smoothies and nutrition in my meal plan. Any suggestions would be wonderful–thanks in advance!
