I don't trust WF as much as I used to. Same with TJ's. I feel they are more in it for the $ than for our total benefit.

No, I'm not saying that they would use bad cashews, but I find it very strange when I read the labels.

For instance, salted roasted cashews are product of canada.
unsalted roasted cashews are product of asia.
why? why isn't canada producing unsalted? I found that a bit strange.

Hmm, that might make a good blog post. I think I'll take some photos next time I'm there and blog about it. LOL

And if you are interested in true fair trade chocolate, here is a great article/list
http://www.foodispower.org/chocolatelist.php

I have it saved to my phone and use it when I shop.

My big thing right now are yogurt parfaits. I've been making them at home, but I've been cheating on the granola and crumbling up some of my wife's cereal.

Hi Debbie, thank you for your "things!" :) I am going to look into the WF CR chocolate. That is a great idea. I never heard that about the salted nuts. Maybe it's a false sense of trust with WF, but do you think that is a worry with their brand? I feel like they value quality so much they wouldn't do a "cover up," but I guess you never know. I could totally see that happening with cheaper brands though!

I agree about the hummus. I keep trying to make it, but somehow it's just too much work when you want it NOW. I buy the Cedars brand.

Right now, the "thing" I'm into is chocolate. I buy Whole Foods Costa Rican (fair trade) chocolate bars, and only eat one square with an oz of nuts. I get a mouthful of each and it's like my own nut chocolate bar.

I'm also into salted cashews from WF. Always try to buy the unsalted nuts, because I had heard that salted versions could be trying to "cover up" nuts that are getting older or rancid. :( But I am liking the salted cashews!
