Ha, Debbie, it’s because I have only shown photos of the “decent” rooms. Trust me, the inside photographs well but it is very gross, and the insides of those cabinets are completely nasty. They are going in the dump very soon.

We have no time frame, but hope to keep it under a year. Don’t worry, that never happens – we are Mr. and Mrs. Scope Creep. We plan to live here when it’s done. It is just so cool of a design and we are tired of doing this! Ha!

Okay, wow, I dunno, maybe it’s me, and I have totally off the wall tastes, but I really could live in a home like this, and not have to remodel. hahahaha. I love that ole fashioned 60′s-ish brick and that fireplace is so pretty.

Yes, the kitchen is very small, something that I know I wouldn’t like, but I do like those old wood cabinets.

Anyway, good luck, angela, I really CAN’T WAIT to see what you’ll be doing. Do you have a rough time frame? Do you think you’ll live here, or sell it once it’s done?

Yes, I definitely agree that 2-3 minutes in the Ninja would be too long because it is so powerful – I think you would end up with a lot of frothy batter! I would start small and mix in 30 second increments. Something tells me 1 minute to 90 seconds is closer to right in this application…let me know if you try it and what works!

Thanks, Angela. It would seem to me that you wouldn’t want to mix a cake mix the usual 2 or 3 minutes. What do you think?

Hi Britt,

It is a bit of a one way street with remodeling – once you start, it is hard to stop! But, honestly, we enjoy it and we work well together, so it is quality time in some ways. Good luck on your home search!

Hi Sandra,

You are right that Central Oregon is much different than the Seattle metro area. It is just so wonderful there!

The Ninja can certainly do cake mixes and the like. I don’t do a lot of baking, but, it does fine with dough, so it will have no problem with cake mix. You may want to give it a try before you get rid of the mixer, though. Have fun with your Ninja!

Lovely! I live near Bend, which of course is much different…drier and more countrified. Just got my Ninja…and would like to get rid of my old mixer. Can the Ninja do cake mixes and the like?
