Taste Kitchen Tuesday: Café Yumm

This week, I have a new feature for you 2Chili dubbed “Taste” Kitchen Tuesday. (He thinks he is so clever.)

There are so many amazing restaurants in Bend (so many!), that every so often we decided to forego TKT in the traditional sense and try something new in our new part-time town. This won’t be replacing the real Test Kitchen Tuesday every week – just every now and then.

This week, we hunted down Café Yumm. Oregonians know Café Yumm very well – it has that kind of reputation – good for you food that tastes good. I can think of nothing that sounds Yummier!

While they are known for their rice and bean bowls, the menu is quite large and varied. I went with the tried and true original Yumm Bowl, and it did not disappoint. If you are ever in Oregon and looking for a healthy lunch or dinner, drop by a Café Yumm. If you’re not, I have provided a recipe below so you can make your own Yumm Bowl.

I forgot I wanted to write about this, so I stirred up the bowl before taking a picture – it is much prettier in real life!

There is something so filling about rice and beans, but it doesn’t have to be boring. This bowl is just awesome – give it a try and let me know what you think!
